Eileen Burbidge

Eileen Burbidge (@eileentso) is Partner at Passion Capital, the leading early-stage technology venture capital investment firm in Europe, based in London. She brings extensive operational experience to her investment activities gleaned from business and product roles at Yahoo!, Skype, Apple and elsewhere.

Eileen was ranked #18 in the WIRED100 (2012 and again in 2013 with her partners), is one of London's 1000 Most Influential People according to the Evening Standard newspaper (2014), serves on the advisory board for TechCity UK (chaired by the Prime Minister’s Office at No 10 Downing Street), advisory panel for the Pitch10 events in partnership with the UK Government and is a London Tech Ambassador for London Mayor Boris Johnson. On behalf of Passion, Eileen serves as board director for DueDil, Digital Shadows, wireWAX, Lulu and other portfolio companies. She is also a frequent guest and commentator for media including Bloomberg TV, CNBC, Sky News and the BBC television and radio.

Eileen holds a BSc Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dan Bell

Dan manages the accelerator programme at Emerge Education: the EdTech accelerator programme for high potential startups from around the world. Emerge Education's startups bring innovative offerings to 'upgrade learning' and show potential for real growth, acceleration and positive impact. Prior to Emerge Education, Dan served as President of AIESEC UK and gained experience in delivering informal education to hundreds of thousands of higher education students in the UK and around the world.

Jan Matern

Jan directs Emerge Education and is responsible for its overall vision, financial and strategic health. Jan co-founded the Lab during his final year at Oxford University, where he graduated with a 1st class degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He was previously an Associate at Chelwood Capital, a social investment consultancy, where he worked with scalable social ventures seeking to access capital markets.

Hall Davidson

Hall Davidson has worked from think tanks in Turkey to classrooms in Tennessee. He has collaborated with thought leaders including teachers, superintendents, and departments of education. A former K-12 bilingual math teacher and college faculty member, he left the classroom to became part of an Emmy-winning team, creating math and technology integration programs. For forty years, he has been an educational innovator in important waves of change, first in broadcasting, then computers, and now digital learning. His talks blend humour, deep insight, and data from both education and industry and illustrate the big picture with nuts and bolts examples. He has worked with transformational industry groups, education ministries, and with thousands of students through guidance of the nation's oldest student media festival. Across four decades of work with education, he identifies right now as the most transformative and important time for teaching and learning.

Darryl LaGace

Darryl LaGace is the EVP of Global Business Development and International GM at Lightspeed Systems. Previously he was Chief Information and Technology Officer at San Diego Unified School District in California, where he launched a technology initiative including rolling out more than 25,000 iPad devices to students. Darryl is committed to helping schools use technology to advance learning and providing ubiquitous mobile access to all students.

Lisa Percy

Lisa is responsible for a number of areas in BBC Learning, including online content for teachers, learners and parents. With many years of experience in the education field, Lisa specialises in formal learning. She is leading on the development of curriculum resources for BBC Bitesize.

Lisa began her career as a school teacher. With a particular passion for arts education and the new learning opportunities created by technology, she began to pursue these interests through academic study and went on to work at organisations including Warwick University, Becta and The Guardian before joining the BBC in 2005.
