Curriculum Innovation - Free Leeds Showcase

Wednesday 25 November 2015

Bradford’s Curriculum Innovation team currently work with over 80% of Bradford schools providing individual and partnership subscriptions, educational projects, CPD courses and events. The team have expanded their provision to neighbouring regions and would like to present their service offering to Leeds schools.

On Wednesday 25 November the team will be delivering a FREE showcase event at Hawksworth Wood Primary School from 4pm until 6pm. There will be refreshments on arrival and an introduction to the team’s services by Paul Scott (Lead Innovation Consultant). Attendees will then have the opportunity to attend two of the breakout sessions below.

  • Digital Leaders (Paul Scott) – This session will outline how you can empower your pupils to become leaders in the effective use of the technologies across your school. Paul will give you an overview of how Bradford’s Digital Leader Academy programme has supported over 70 schools to develop an effective Digital Leader provision.
  • (e)Safeguarding (James Langley) – This session will give you an overview of how schools can ensure their whole school (e)Safeguarding provision (including delivering an appropriate (e)Safeguarding curriculum) meets Oftsed and DfE standards.
  • Film Literacy (Tim Bleazard) – Our film literacy provision is based on a 3 year nationally recognised project delivered in partnership with Bradford City of Film, CapeUK, and the British Film Institute (BFI) and data from the project showed an increase in attainment and progress in both reading and writing. This session will provide an overview of the programme and the impact on a range of teachers and pupils who participated.
  • Introducing Bradford’s Computing Curriculum (Steve Dale) – This session will introduce attendees to the Bradford Computing Curriculum accessed by the majority of Primary schools in Bradford. Steve will demonstrate the online curriculum content including video tutorials and other resources enabling schools to deliver the Computing Curriculum and make effective use of technologies to raise attainment across the curriculum.

Every delegate will be entered into a free prize draw.
