Many processes have been put into place to ensure the quality of the ICT Mark accreditation scheme:

The whole selection process for assessors is moderated to ensure that each training session offers the same high quality opportunity to all candidates.

  • Assessors have to complete a range of observed and assessed tasks during their training. These are collated and agreed by a panel of trainers/quality assurance moderators.
  • All assessors have a regular review and their assessment work moderated to ensure consistently high standards.
  • All schools who undertake an assessment will be asked to fill in an evaluation form about the process and the work of the assessor.
  • All assessors are required to sign an agreement, a code of practice and conditions for continuing registration. These documents clearly state the professional expectations required of them within their assessor role.
  • There is a structured appeal process to deal with any issues arising.
