Introducing RiskIT 2012 - a fantastic new initiative.

At an exciting time for ICT, we are really pleased to support a great initiative for encouraging teachers to try something new with technology, whether it is a new tool, a tool that hasn’t been used for a while or using a familiar tool in a different way.  It could be a new piece of software or an online tool, or a piece of hardware that the school wants to use more effectively.  The RiskIT fortnight will take place from October 6th-19th and is aimed at ALL the teachers in a school, whatever subject they are teaching. Schools can choose to have a 1 or 2 week campaign, using ideas that can be adopted in and adapted to a school setting.  Senior leadership in a school become involved in empowering, encouraging and actively supporting their staff to try something different.  Schools are registering their interest via the Naace website at http://www.naace.co.uk/schools/riskit   and already over 50  have  committed to this opportunity for continuing professional development and advancing education, whatever the subject area, through the appropriate and effective use of technology.  Building on tried and tested success, the popularity of the idea, initially started by A. Benjeddi from North Fleet Girls School in Kent, is growing and is being taken up by schools all over the country.  As the inspiration Ben’s colleagues and students benefited from spreads much further than Kent, teachers are looking forward to making the most of the opportunities that technology can bring to Why not register and RiskIT too? There’s nothing to lose and a lot to be gained!
