Press Release: Announcement of Shortlisted Candidates for Naace ICT Impact Awards – Naace Stand J42 – Thursday 13 January 3 pm

Naace, the ICT Association, is delighted to advise that the shortlisted candidates for the Naace ICT Impact Awards will be announced at the Naace Stand, J42, at BETT 2011 on Thursday 13 January at 3pm.

Naace has a long standing history of supporting those working in education to use ICT to achieve the greatest possible impact, and now seeks to provide some formal recognition of outstanding work in this area.

Naace is eager that ‘learner outcomes’ be interpreted broadly and in seeking entries stressed that this might include attainment, achievement, motivation, behaviour, attitudes and creativity, but should not be seen as restricted to these categories. As such Naace is pleased to advise that in a very short space of time over 60 nominations were received.

The judges, from the Naace Board of Management, have reviewed all nominations and have been staggered by the high quality and the very many illustrations of where impact is occurring. As a response to this it has been decided to recognise all nominees by providing Naace ICT Impact Nomination certificates for all during the course of the next week.

The categories for this year are:
•    Award for EYFS
•    Award for Primary
•    Award for Secondary
•    Award for Post-compulsory
•    Award for Supporting Inclusion in any phase sponsored by Crick Software
•
Shortlisted candidates will be announced this Thursday and the ultimate winners will be presented this prestigious national award presented by the Lord Jim Knight at the Gala Dinner at the Naace Strategic Conference at Wokefield Park in Reading on Wednesday 16th March 2011. Naace is delighted that Lord Knight has accepted our invitation to this inaugural event.

A further press announcement will be made on Thursday with details of shortlisted candidates.

Naace is delighted that Crick Software (www.cricksoft.com) has decided to sponsor the Supporting Inclusion Award. Discussions are underway with other sponsors at present and further announcements will be made shortly.

Paul Heinrich, Immediate Past Chair of the Naace Board of Management commented that ‘Naace has wanted to recognise the talent amongst our members and the wider ICT Community for some long time. We are delighted that the recent launch of these awards has attracted so much attention and warmly congratulate all nominees. We wish all the shortlisted candidates every success in the next stage of the process and look forward to the ultimate award ceremony at the Naace Strategic Conference which I have to say is shaping up to be a phenomenal event.’
